2016 - 2nd Annual - St. Patrick Day Family Parade

The Second Annual  St. Patrick Day Family Parade and Pet Walk is now in the planning stages. Last year   approximately 150 people plus pets turned out to support the event and raise several hundred pounds of food for the needy. Thanks to Mayor Trulock, the city and the school system for their support.

We are planning on a bigger and better event in 2016!

William will again leading the event.

Most of us, if not all of us, are very fortunate in life however there are others in our community who are not as fortunate.  In an effort to show appreciation for how God has blessed us and to help others we have organized the first St. Patrick Day Family Parade and Pet Walk in Madison. There is no cost to participate in the event however we do hope that you can donate some non-perishable food items for human or animal consumption.  Donations will be distributed to the St. Vincent de Paul food bank and to The Ark animal shelter.

The parade and walk will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM.  We will meet at Discovery Middle school and walk to BJHS and back. This is a round trip distance of about 3 miles. The route is flat and there is a walkway for our use.

We encourage other groups to participate and we will try to recognize some of these groups as appropriate.

In case of rain donations will still be collected at the Discovery Middle School parking lot

All pets should be on leashes with their vaccinations current.

You can learn more about our charities for this event by going to their web sites:

St Vincent De Paul -  http://www.svdpusa.org/

The Ark -  www.arkinc.org

Our event has been listed at http://www.st-patricks-day.com/  which lists all things Irish. Check out the section for Alabama.

A special thanks to David at Sign-A-Rama for helping us with our great banners. They are located at 9059 Madison Blvd, Suite i. Look for us across from Old Time Pottery.  Phone (256) 881-5080?  www.signarama-huntsville.com

New To Venture Scouts?

Here's A Description Of What We Do.
Venture Scouting is a youth run organization for boys and girls ages 14 through 20 who want to participate in the worlds most recognized program for the development of young adults.  Not only will you learn leadership skills through service in your venture crew, you'll have a great time doing it.  Crew 007 develops these skills throughout the several outings we take each year, along with other smaller activities.  Here's a short list of things that we do.

ADVENTURE                                                                   COMUNITY SERVICE
- Camping                                                                      - Food Bank
- Theatre                                                                        - Humane Society

- Shooting                                                                      - Homeless Shelter
- Skiing/Snowboarding                                                    - Clothing Drive
- Rafting                                                                        - Environmental Upkeep
- Travel
- Hiking

That's just a brief list of some of the things we do, but we're always open to new ideas and suggestions for outings or activities.
